Image preparation for laser engraving
Tombstone decorations with images and related motifs have been present for a long time throughout the world. With the development of technology, the monumental industry was able to realistically transfer a portrait of a person to a tombstone.
Modern lasers can very accurately engrave any picture on the stone, but the picture itself must undergo the engraving process in order for laser etching to be satisfactory. This is especially true for portrait etching. The portrait photographs that ritual companies receive are not suitable for engraving, and the preparation of these photographs requires additional time to obtain the highest possible quality of engraved portraits.
We provide these services with great responsibility. We guarantee that our services will allow you to get the most complex engravings without distorting the face and natural appearance of a person.
Of course, depending on the state of the image, there are limitations, but we can proudly say that we have more than 20 years of experience in preparing portraits for etching.
Prices for these services depend on the complexity and time required and start at $ 20 per portrait.
Stipple pickling preparation
The Stipple technique was invented by Giulio Campagnola, an Italian artist and engraver who created art in the early 16th century. Today, thanks to modern technology, there is no need to be an extraordinary artist to etch art portraits.
Using the dotted printing technique, we will prepare a portrait for work, fully adapted for use as a memorial photograph. Portraits prepared in this way look really prestigious, and their durability is an additional advantage, since they can be deeply captured in granite.
Steeple portraits, inked on paper by a professional graphic artist, cost about $ 300 per portrait. Our rough portraits are a bit simpler, but still fully adapted for the monument industry, and our prices start at $ 30 per portrait. Certain discounts are available exclusively for monument companies.
For different clients, we prepare parts of various levels, such as lightning, dot sizes, etc. The process of creating portraits is semi-automatic, which allows us to prepare and deliver a photo within a few days, depending on our workload.
Preparation for engraving
The engraving technique dates back to the earliest centuries. This type of art has become popular with metal engraving, especially in the production of celebrity engravings, and more recently as an artistic effect in print.
Engraving portraits became very popular when the Wall Street Journal began publishing portraits of famous people using this technique, and today it is also considered a highly respected engraving art.
After we have processed the client’s image at various stages of editing in order to achieve a satisfactory result, the photograph can be prepared for etching using this technique. Our photographs are fully customized for engraving on monuments or on wood (if preferred). The whole process is semi-automatic, and the picture can be ready in 2-5 days after order confirmation.
Grayscale images for etching
We have found that this technique is ideal for pickling machines. We prepare photos for etching using small dots of the same size, differing only in distance. The whole picture consists exclusively of black and white dots.
This unique technique provides a characteristic structure for engraved images, and on the monument it looks quite distinctly.
Thanks to this, you do not need to worry about the balance of shadows and lights, it is already configured and cannot be changed regardless of the calibration of your monitors. All you need to think about is the power of your laser or percussion machine.
The exact sizes are needed for these types of photos before we start working on them. This is important because grayscale images, once prepared in certain sizes, become corrupted and quite unusable even after a small resizing. The composition of black and white dots makes these images very light, no more than 200 KB.
